MILLENNIAL HAUS

Located in Jaipur, the Millennial Haus is an apartment unit created for a small family of three people. The clients living in South Africa wanted a private space that is both a crash pad for the couple whenever needed and a cozy house for the family in the heart of the city.

The project was conceived before the pandemic. Thus, the project management and its execution proved to be the main challenge. Our team completed it by collaborating with expert vendors and professional designers to reduce the overarching timeline to four months. Due to a time constraint, the proposal was to create a high spatial continuity, increase ambient-rich spaces and give size and volume to the totality of the apartment.

The apartment comprises a master bedroom, daughter’s room, kitchen, hall, and a living area mixed into a dining area. For privacy, an adjustable screen separates the living from the dining. The hard surfaces and sharp edges elimination in furniture pieces made the place a kid-safe zone. To give the place some personality, pops of colors run in the interiors. To give life to the monotone furnishings, blue and peach colors are combined with subtle gold accents.

Retro-inspired motifs like the hand's teeth have been employed throughout the dining and living rooms to give the flat a lively feel. The daughter’s room has tones of lilac and pink to lend a dreamlike quality. The apartment's orientation receives the sun generously in the morning through windows and through blinds in the evening to contemplate the sunset.
